The impact of COVID-19 on our schools is quickly evolving and school leaders are faced with tough decisions to protect the health of their school communities. Knowing what other schools around the country are doing in face of the pandemic provides actionable insight in a time of uncertainty.
As text message updates and conference calls started yesterday with colleagues at schools around the country, I realized there was no central hub to keep track of which schools have moved instruction online. Likewise, looking ahead to when the situation improves, knowing which schools have reopened their physical campus will be vital to decision makers. I hope this map can be that hub.
I will be updating this page daily with information about the status of independent and private schools around the country. I am using the most up to date publicly available data from school webpages. In addition, I will provide analysis on trends that I see from the data and collaborate with others in the community to provide insight to school leaders on the impact of the COVID-19 crisis.
If any researchers would like access to the raw data, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
